parade went good today. Got compliments from the rear admiral so that makes the chiefs and POs happy. Which makes us happy. Bloody hot in that uniform though.

In all, good times were had.

I haven't experienced such retarded amounts of drill since BMQ. I kind of like it.

Feet hurt, but otherwise it's been good times. the day goes relatively fast so that's cool.

off to vancouver friday for a parade and then we head out to Halifax the 13th/14th for the parade on the 27th. The flight should be kind of awesome. apparently we're flying in a military plane. Rumor has it it's a hercules. But we'll see.

The drill staff are pretty decent which is awesome because there are some who I know would feed us a giant 8 ft cock every day if they had the chance.

You'll do anything for love, but you won't do that.

That's great. I'm dating Meatloaf.

Facepalm.

In other news, Apparently there's a thing called post living differential. Which means the forces are going to give me 800 bucks a month for rent when I move outta here. So my living costs will basically be food, internet, and phone. How much win is that?

lol

I get back to barracks and am in the middle of doing my laundry when Dower barges in and gives me a huge (and kind of painful) bear hug, says he's glad I'm sticking around but he has to get back to his room so he can have cybersex with his girlfriend, drops me and runs out. It was made of lolz. Good to see him though. Looks like we're going apartment hunting and seeing angels & demons tomorrow afternoon/evening. Hopefully we have a measure of success and can move out of Nelles at the end of the month.

It's been decided, Dower and I are GTFOing the barracks ASAP.

Goodbye Nelles Block. I fucking hate you and your crazy nazi commissionaire lady. The countdown is on.

back on dry land.

Wasn't as brutal in some ways as I was thinking it might be. in other ways it was more brutal. Like the first day and a half when we were in sea state 6. where I spent a solid 16 hours vomiting every five minutes.

They actually took me off KP and had me doing hull tech stuff for the last week. so that was pretty cool. I even canceled my remuster. Basically we spend a lot of time in black water and a lot of time drinking and singing 'I'm on a boat' with the firefighters. lol.

The guys I work with are totally cool. even the POs. and the one leading seaman looks almost exactly like my brother, so that was kind of weird. they even have the same mannerisms.

And when we were berthing today I got to be part of the berthing party. basically that means you climb down a ladder on the side of a ship into a zodiac and go to shore so the guys on the ship have people to throw the lines to. It was the coolest shit I've done since basic.

On the downside I got fucking shafted for rounds in the barracks. the LT did his rounds yesterday. no wonder my room was all dusty and shit, I've been gone for two weeks. maybe they didn't notice the pile of chits that'd been piling up next to my note that said GONE SAILING. BACK MAY 15TH. *facepalm*

Anyways.

going sailing monday. 12 days. Luckily they put me on night shift. which means I get to sleep and watch movies in the cave and then go do dishes and make coffee every couple hours. Looks like we're expecting rough seas though. That should be interesting. sea state 6. means 30ยบ rolls. Glad I don't have to deal with soup.

Oh and let me tell you about my adventure in getting home thursday night.

dress regs state you can't leave the base with your ball cap on. I didn't have my beret so I couldn't go out the front gate. The back gate was closed. So I went for a bit of a swim to get around the fence and then climbed up a rock face to get the hell out of dockyard. That was fun times. It was more of a wade, really. I was lucky it was low tide. Also, barnacles for the lose.

Here's hoping my lack of observation of cameras means there aren't any. and if there are, that no one really looks at them. Though I'm sure breaking circumnavigating out of dockyard is substantially less serious an offense than breaking circumnavigating in.

at least in basic I got some respect. Even though I was the scum of the earth. Here people just like to shit on you because they can. There's no real point to it. We all went through basic. They bring you down so they can bring you all up again. Here it's all down all the time and it's pissing me off.

divvies went surprisingly well. I didn't even really get inspected. the Engineering officer sort of walked by us, mentioned that he'd never seen me or Dower before, and moved on. I looked supar spiffy though. Especially now that I have hair. Hair is pretty much essential for not looking like a retard in a bowler.

And then I did more dishes. I'm about ready to vertically release. off the ship and into the bay. I'd swim to bloody colwood if I thought it'd get me out of doing more frakking dishes.

BPSO appointment thursday. Kind of nervous about it I guess. I mean. I'll probably keep with the met tech thing. My life is complicated enough. But... I'll still ask the questions. probably.

boots are shined. shirt, pants, and tie are ironed. Have yet to sew anchor on bowler, but I have to wait for the canex to open to get some black thread.

There's a gouge on the toe of my boot that's not going anywhere though :/
